The Public Works Department will have two operating snow plow crews throughout the snow season. These crews are prepared to operate during snow events, up to 24 hours a day, if necessary. Crews will be called out after 1 inch of snow has accumulated on the roads. Generally all roads are plowed simultaneously, however during severe storms, main streets may take precedence for safety reasons.
Service Level 1- Main streets and hills.
Service Level 2- All residential streets and School ADA Routes.
Service Level 3- Cul-de-sacs and alley ways.

South Jordan City also receives a list of children with disabilities each year from the Jordan School District. Cul-de-sacs and streets for these families are also Service Level 1.
Service Level 2 - Through Subdivisions
Through subdivisions consist of subdivision roads that connect back to a collector street (do not become a dead end). Stopping to turn around is not only unsafe but greatly slows the progress and efficiency of plows, therefore Service Level 2 are roads that allow them to continue moving forward.
Service Level 3 - Cul-de-sacs and other Subdivisions
South Jordan City has more that 520 cul-de-sacs. Each will receive 1 pass in and 1 pass out as long as there are no cars parked on the street. Subdivision streets without an outlet are also Service Level 3. Depending on the nature of the storm, it may take a day or two to reach every street and cul-de-sac, so please be patient.
