The South Jordan Police Department currently has 27 officers assigned to patrol. The division is split for coverage and consists of 6 rotating shifts. These shifts include dayshift, afternoons and graveyard patrols to maximize resources, allowing as many officers on patrol as possible.
Patrol is responsible for the overall direction, control and coordination of police field operations for South Jordan City.

Patrol responsibilities include; calls for service, proactive patrolling and community problem resolution. Extra patrol details and police presence in residential, business and new construction areas is the model for maintaining relationships with the communities we serve.
